It sounds like the remote signal is also being processed by
evdev. Try the following command the block evdev.<br>

Thanks Brian, that was the solution! I had no idea about 'evdev'.
Oddly the thread you reference mentions <br>
a fix being pushed, but my Fedora 14 is completely up to date and
that echo statement is not in the /etc/init.d/lirc.<br>
