I went away on vacation for a few days, and when I returned, something had happened to my entire home network. My router needed to be completely reset and reconfigured before I could get anything working in that regard, and all of my machines, including my mythtv backend were in a strange state. My backend was totally unresponsive to direct input from a remote, keyboard, mouse, network, etc. The only way I could make it restart was to force it to power down with the power button. When it restarted, I saw a kernel panic and it stopped responding on the initial reboot. I forced another restart, and it booted this time. My windows 7 machine was in a state where it failed to start and was attempting a recovery, and an OS X 10.4 eMac was unable to connect to the network. Once I got my network reset and reconfigured, and all my machines rebooted, I noticed that my backend had made no recordings during the time I was away, and those made since I reset everything had bad video (though the audio seems fine). I'm not sure how to go about diagnosing this part of the problem, so I started by running mythfrontend from a terminal, starting a livetv session, and then exiting, and here's the output:<div>

Whatever was recorded, seemed to play back smoothly, its as though it's just producing a bad signal. I've never had this trouble with either of my two PVR-500 cards, and any time I can't make myth work with them properly, I test them using vlc to tune a singal manually, and that's always worked. When I try it now, VLC simply crashes. I can view live tv straight through my TV (using the actual tuner in the TV) and things look fine. I haven't changed anything physically, and everything was working when I left on Friday. </div>
<div><br></div><div>Where should I go from here? What other log files, etc. should I be looking at? What part of myth should I attempt to reinstall to force a good configuration? Any other tips?
