I'd like to set up a MythTV DVB-T box, but although I know a bit about<br>
Linux admin, I just do not have the bandwidth to allocate a lot of<br>
time (upfront and ongoing) to keeping the box happy. It needs to be<br>
(nearly) an appliance. Probably for that reason, and partially because<br>
I haven't had a box lying around with a full PCI slot for a<br>
WinTV-NOVA-T (now apparently no longer in production?), I still<br>
haven't done it, largely because I don't want to fiddle with capture<br>
card and remote control issues.<br></blockquote><div><br>Looks like USB will have to be the way for you to go, as I do not know of any PCIe tuner cards that work with Linux (not a Mythtv issue, but an OS issue).<br><br>Check the V4L wiki, they have a really good set of pages informing of the driver statuses for just about all the cards available. Hauppauge make a dual-tuner DVB-T (freeview) usb tuner, which will probably be supported.<br>
<br>I'm not sure if the HDhomerun works in the UK. Be interested if it does though.<br><br>Remote controls are a doddle. Go to your local computer components shop, or online, and pick up a Microsoft MCE remote control with a USB receiver, and a couple of blaster modules. It is as close to a standard, and most Myth distos will include it as an option. Certainly Mythbuntu and Knoppmyth do. They are the two I have used for several years now, and are both great, although if you are used to debian/ubuntu stuff, then I'd recommend Mythbuntu as it is based on ubuntu, and is easy to setup.<br>

But looking at the HDHomeRun, it seems like one of those (or two; we<br>
run into the two-tuner limit sometimes) plus an existing box I have<br>
would come pretty close to Just Working(tm).<br>
