I used to run a dual screen set-up on my desktop PC with a VGA monitor and a TV (RCA) so that I could watch TV while working on my PC. I found that if you set up the dual screens as separate X-screens you could start and use the frontend maximised in either screen with no impact on the second screen. The trick is actually starting the frontend on the screen you want to use it from (eg. selecting Applications->Multimedia->MythTV Frontend on the screen you want to use). What then happens is that the GUI will resize with respect to the screen it has been started on. I found this took a little more time to start than usual but the ability to select the screen you want outweighed this inconvenience. Keep in mind I was running the system in this way years ago so I don't know if the new GUI will behave in the same way. NOTE: I just remembered the last time I set up a system in this way was last year for my brother. He had just gotten a new laptop which was now his fastest PC and so I set up a frontend on it so that he could either watch TV on his laptop or attach an LCD/TV to it and watch TV while working on his laptop. It worked fine last year but it was still pre 0.22.
