I recently reinstalled the Ubuntu and Myth on a frontend/slave backend system I use. Now things are strange. First of all, all of the settings for the former backend were already set when I first went to set it up. The partition that held the previous install was deleted. How did the previous settings from the previous install make it into the new install? Is this data stored on the backend somehow? I can successfully test my connection to the database in mythbuntu control centre, but once myth launches, I cannot view recordings or videos (mythvideo is the only plungin I have installed). When I try to view recordings, it seems to hang indefinitely, and when I try to view videos, it seems to try for a while before giving up. I tried removing the backend (my removing it as a system role in mythbuntu control centre) and I had the same performance with the frontend.
