</div></div>Digital-capable Tivos use cablecards.</blockquote><div><br>Only the ones that work with digital cable. DirectTV also has Tivos that are all digital, but don't use cablecard of course.<br>Also, high def capable Tivos have added ATSC tuners (there may be a "low end" high def Tivo that doesn't, I'm not sure), and analog-only tivos have always included an 'ir blaster' kind of gizmo as far as I know, so can control a cable/sat or OTA converter box.<br>
