the remote works and the batteries are ok, because I have an other mythtv box with an other ir receiver that gets the presses from the remote if I am in the same room.<br>

The ir receiver works also, because when I hit the "Power" button on the remote when the pc is turned of, it turns the pc on, so I guess that the receiver end is ok.<br>

That may not apply to you, but for a long time I tried to use a remote that did not come with the iMon. Apparently this doesn't work, you have to use the remove that came with the system. <br><div><div></div><div class="Wj3C7c">
</div></div></blockquote><div><br>I am pretty sure irw will only detect keys if you have setup lircd correctly. Are you absolutely sure you have the correct lircd configuration file for your remote control?<br><br>Do you have a Logitech harmony remote?<br>
