I think its a limitation in the component video spec. Any component
source I've come across drops the closed captions as soon as you go
higher resolution than 480i<br>
Somewhere I read that the 1212 has subtitle support, but I don't see
how that could work unless you plugged the composite or s-video cables
in as well as component. <br>
