Even if I use it for SD only, the mencoder line can be easily configured for higher bitrate, so it should work with HD as well.</div>

<div><br>I believe it uses the default for the job. So whatever you set it to when you scheduled the recording, (even if you didn't have it set to auto transcode.) By default it's 'Medium Quality' I think.<br>
