<br></div></div> Mapping one of the remote buttons as a kill switch works very well.<br>If any sort of frontend shenanigan is going on you just hit the kill<br>switch and "reboot" the thing in a sort of Windows-esque fashion.</blockquote>

<div>I'd recommend even using a very light window manager like fluxbox and having a nice desktop image that says "Please wait while MythTV loads" or something to that effect so they get the impression that things are happening. </div>
