Missing menus after upgrading is often a theme issue. Try
reverting<br>
to something standard like mythcenter or GANT<br><br>
Otherwise it's likely to be an opengl issue (try qt instead) or missing
fonts.<br><br>

I had that problem once and it was missing font files. <br><br>
