I initially tried to use the imon_pad option, which created an
lircd.conf. I think this was for an earlier version of the iMON PAD.<br>

I then emerged with LIRC_DEVICES=imon_pad2keys, which apparently leaves
an existing lircd.conf alone. This caused a mismatch.<br>

it usually does. I think I was using the old lircd.conf.<br>

irrecord is apparently not compatible with the iMON PAD device. The
big differences appear to be toggle_bit_mask, toggle_bit, and
min_repeat, and the additional device, antec_fusion_wheel.<br>
