Based on my experience, I would suggest using WinMyth (<a href="http://winmyth.sourceforge.net/" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)">http://winmyth.sourceforge.net/</a>) as I have had much success running this on my girlfriends laptop for similar reasons.
