Actually, TV networks and their advertisers are rather keen to get
this information.  The default assumption by advertisers right now is
that all PVR users skip all commercials, which isn't really true.
Neilson has, for the first time, started collecting this data
recently.  It was pretty big news in the industry.

Indeed. There are apparently only around 25K "metered" Neilson families
at a given time (many more contribute to the stats via diaries).&nbsp; My
original point was that if myth was bundled with a facility to allow
people to collect and report back their statistics (on a voluntary
basis), the aggregate data stream would be rather valuable,
particularly since we could collect arbitrary detail such as
time-shifting, repeat watching, and non-ad-related pauses/skips during
shows.<br>
