user account (ryan) and tried to connect to the mysql database, and</font>

found that there was a database for mythtv containing a table</font>

when I ran the command "DESCRIBE mythconverg;" it gave
me an error</font>

file. I'll get the actual error message if you think it would help.

created properly. I could drop the table and recreate it, but I don't

Would it be best to try re-installing everything, or is there a tool</font>

installation instructions I followed did not create any account for the</font>

That shouldn't be required for mysql access - I think that's so the<br>
backend can run as a non-privileged user, and still access the video<br>
and audio devices. Since my system has no direct connection to the<br>
Internet, and it was a pain getting the backend to run reliably as a<br>
non-privileged user (I'd edit the /etc/init.d/mythbackend script, but<br>
it would be overwritten every time the mythtv-backend package was<br>
updated), I have it running as root.<br>

Since you can't save video source info either, but mythtv-setup is<br>
apparently starting up without a problem, my suspicion is that you<br>
have a mythconverg database, but haven't actually run the script to<br>
create the tables in it.<br>
