Can anyone running the current ATRPMs-bleeding packages tell me how it's going? I've been having lots of transcoding problems that I've been unable to solve. I'm hoping an upgrade will fix some things.

Specifically I can't transcode DVD's or recordings, or archive anything. When I try to transcode a DVD the screen for that is just blank. When I try to transcode a recording it just does nothing. Archiving fails with the generic message about a "script error" and the archiving log shows an ffmpeg error.

Attempts to run transcode and ffmpeg by hand give a variety of errors. Oddly, using ffmpeg to transcode an HD program that's over 8.7GB with settings that should yeild high quality gives me a 128MB file that's choppy and is only 5 mins of the program.

I'm tired of chasing the rabbit down the hole and I'd like to fix it in one fell swoop by upgrading. But if I go to bleeding, am I just trading one devil for another?

If this doesn't work I'm going to back it all up to dual layer DVD and try out LinuxMCE
1.1 and/or MythDora 4.0.

Thanks in advance,

Joe
