<div><br><div><span></span>Now this IS a hack - I detest NDISwrapper! I'm pretty sure there are USB wireless NICs (based on the Ralink chipset) that run natively (ie: without NDISwrapper) under Linux.

You may detest it, but as another data point, I had a DLink wireless card that (despite being Atheros based) I couldn't get working by any means until I tried NDISwrapper with the windows driver. It works flawlessly (and stably). So if nothing else, it's worth a shot if all else fails.
