I don't think that's the case. I checked and the libglx.so I have in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions is a symbolic link to the libglx.so installed by the nvidia-glx package (I use Ubuntu 6.06). How did you come to the conclusion about glxgears anyways, whenever I ran mine it seemed to be all right?

Also, I noticed sometimes my "watch TV" *does* work, so it's not black all the time. I really am very confused why.

-Igor

On 1/19/07,

I was having that same issue. I also saw it other times including when
running glxgears. After commenting out glx from xorg.conf I was stable.
After a bit more digging I found out that xorg.conf was loading the
wrong libglx.so. I did the quick and dirty copy of libglx.so out of
the /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia directory
into /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/ and all is good. The correct fix
is probably to put a ModulePath entry in
xorg.conf, but since
nvidia-settings likes to overwrite xorg.conf every time I make a change
(and I'm experimenting on getting good tv settings) I did it the hack
way.

On Fri, 2007-01-19 at 17:03 -0700,
