Yes, I'd say that's pretty accurate. Since the devs are the ones
doing all the work, for free mind you, how do you propose that conflict
be resolved? You're saying that any end user request that
conflicts with how the developers want things to run ends up with the
developer saying "send me your patch to implement that change".
You would expect the developers to say, "Okay, I get no compensation
for this whatsoever but you, a person I have never met, really want
this feature so sure, I'll devote my time to it for the next several
days/weeks/months and get that feature right out to you even though I
don't like it and will never use it"?<br>

That's ridiculous. There are many PVR products out there.
If MythTV doesn't work the way someone wants it to then they are free
to explore/buy/use any other product that does work for them or to
submit patches to Myth if they are willing/able. No one is
forcing anyone to use MythTV. If you have a job you want done,
find the tool that works best for the job and works most like the way
you want it to work. Then use that tool. If Myth is that
tool, but there are a few things that could be better then by all
means, feel free to make suggestions, but when the people that create
Myth say no, they won't make that change either find a different tool
or learn to live with that "shortcoming". It's really that simple.<br>
