Should have read more into that. The package for mythtv-backend does include both ivtv and dvb support.

On 10/26/06,

Rich,

DVB support is included in the kernel. I currently use a Airstar HD5000 without having to install anything. I'm not sure about a pcHDTV HD-3000, as I dont have one :) As for IVTV, the IVTV sources are now provided in the repositories. After the first install, the user just has to remember to follow 3 steps to recompile whenever a new kernel is booted into the first time.

That said, I am building MythTV in a SuSe Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED 10) environment. I have two pcHDTV HD-3000 cards and one Hauppage PVR-350. As such, I found I need to compile MythTV to get the ivtv & dvb support at the same time.

Does the Ubuntu repository for mythtv-backend include ivtv & dvb support??

The wiki does look good from an initial glance. Having spent a bit of time with my configuration, there could be a few potholes - like the dual driver support. But as folks work on it - this will improve!
