Please, I'm not afraid to compile stuff myself, I just don't know how to make .deb files. I'm proficient in linux, but not in debian/ubuntu. So some detailed instructions on how to make .deb files for svn versions of mythtv for ubuntu would be really appreciated by me.

mythplugins then myththemes). It is actually not too scary...</font>

do "make install" step. Instead use "checkinstall"
which makes a .deb for you and installs it. Then you can always uninstall
easily, and go back to "stock" mythtv debs later (or immediately).
You should back up your database BEFORE doing this as running mythtv
does an auto update of the database structure (schema).</font>
