modules.conf is type 0 for the UK for the PVR 350 (thats what I have mine
set to although I'm using a cable TV via composite or SVideo input). Have
you tried to hook something up to the composite input - I'd think that
would be an easier option to debug your setup.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">I've been thru the whole grief of getting
a PVR 350 working on Fedora over the last couple of weeks so I know you're
probably going a bit nuts.. but I'd try the following (providing your ivtv
module works?). </font>
<br>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Insert the module. </font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">test_ioctl -u0xff -f width=720,height=576
-p0 (for composite 0) to set the PAL and capture format. </font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">hook up something to the composite input
(via the svideo connection). Digital cable or Sky is composite via the
scart so dont try to use the Svideo option for the test_ioctl</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">do your cat /dev/video0 > /tmp/file.mpg
to get something decent. Then try to play it back via mplayer. If you are
getting snow or a black screen when using composite, then something is
up with the config or the driver for the card. If it works, then look at
the actual TV tuner to capture off the airwaves. </font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">As for the TV output, you will need
to </font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">insmod saa7127 enable_output=1 output_select=0
pal=1 test_image=1</font>
<br>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">to get the test card to appear. This
will be a series of vertical coloured bars. On my TV (an old but very fine
Sony), this appears on the RGB input of the TV. </font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Good luck - the quality of the TV out
is pretty stunning when you get it working! </font>

I now have tantalising colour (not the b&w snow of before).<br>

I also tried to get the test card to work but without success<br>
Is the test card a static picture with unchanging colours?<br>

I know the PVR works as I installed it in minutes on a Windows PC <br>
and got a poor quality picture from the tuner.<br>

I have used Gossamer threads and the wiki site but now feel stuck!<br>
