I tried to <SPAN class=SpellE>modprobe</SPAN> the <SPAN class=SpellE>lirc_sir</SPAN> module installed by the <SPAN class=SpellE>lirc</SPAN> & <SPAN class=SpellE>lirc-kmdl</SPAN> <SPAN class=SpellE>rpms</SPAN> downloaded with apt-get and my box froze up, nothing in /<SPAN class=SpellE>var</SPAN>/log/messages to indicate what might have gone wrong. . <SPAN class=GramE>I currently just <SPAN class=SpellE>modprobe</SPAN> <SPAN class=SpellE>lirc_dev</SPAN> and lirc_i2c to listen to the <SPAN class=SpellE>hauppage</SPAN>.</SPAN> . <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
