I have a similar problem (see
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/419508?search_string=Unsolicited%20response%20;#419508).
 Jarod responded saying that it means the cable box is still sending
data after the host has asked it to stop and he believes this is
specific to DCT-6200 boxes.

I have been having major firewire reliability issues (not sure if it
was after a kernel upgrade or when it exactly started).  I think this
is the reason for my issues.
