He means a discrete IR signal for each input -- i.e. being able to
switch directly to VGA, HDMI, Svideo1, etc etc.  I know because I got
an Olevia 42" also lacking this and it utterly sucks.  You have one
button/code to cycle through the inputs.  And it doesn't exactly
switch inputs very fast.  This was an annoyance even after I got my
nice Harmony remote that can do all the thinking for me.  Finally I
got an upscaling receiver so everything is going to the HDMI source on
the tv now.  Next TV purchase I will be confirming how much control is
possible for sure.
