Picture quality is now excellent - thank you!

I'd be interested to know what I just did. I would have thought that DVB
quality would be pretty good without having to invoke some filters to clean
it up.

I'm also interested to know if the transcoders that appear under TV-Settings/Recording-Profiles
are invoked at all; just so I understand what the system is up to.

Try goining into Setup/TV/Playback, and set CustomFilters to:
kerneld
>int,denoise3d

Enter+Enter..until your back, and then try LiveTV. If it's slow, try only:

kerneldeint
