I just want to note that this is not an SVN issue. I have a friend whose
system I've helped configure that has this same issue on his HDTV. He is
running -fixes and the theme is not relevant. We've changed themes with
similar results. When it happens, his Xorg CPU usage jumps significantly
which appears to be the cause of the sluggishness.
Do these systems have NVIDIA graphics using the NVIDIA proprietary drivers? A couple of users on the -users list had a problem with sluggishness/X maxing out the CPU (and seeming to "store up" remote button presses) and it was due to not having "UseEvents" enabled.
I haven't watched the YouTube video (don't have Flash installed), so I don't know that the symptoms match, but regardless, if using NVIDIA drivers, you should have UseEvents enabled, so it may be worth checking. :)
