thanks for the hints, I hope increasing the buffer will help. In a
Pundit-R chassis there's no place for a 2nd HD :( and the
optimize-script runs every day by cron...<br>

That's about right for this being the scheduler query. It runs just
about every 5 minutes give or take some (intentional) randomness.
This won't be fixed in 0.20, but I have some hope for 0.21.
But there are somethings you can do:
1/ Run the myth.rebuilddatabase.pl script.
Corrupted databases add considerably to the query time.
2/ Increase the buffering in the DVB Recorder.
Setup/TV Settings/General on the last pane. Look for
"HD Ringbuffer size (KB):" and increase it to 14100.
3/ Place the DB on a separate hard drive. (generally in /var)
4/ nice mysql (this won't do any good without #3)
Please tell everyone in mythtv-users about the workarounds :)
Don't do all of them unless you have to. Except for #1 they all
have trade-offs. And the other option, of course, is not to use
EIT. It is still a work in progress.
